The River2 Sea S-waver Glide Bait is a hard swimbait I’ve thrown across multiple lakes for multiple species. For the money, anglers get a lot out of this lure. The action and build are pretty top-notch, and it catches a lot of fish. Whether I’m fishing shallow flats for large striped bass or gliding it along boat docks, it seems to double as an open water glide and short – range erratic lure. It has more versatility than expected – you can get the bait up shallow and along submerged structure easily and maintain a good side to side-to-side walk.
Construction & Paint

The construction of the s waver is solid from head to tail with a thick plastic the forms a smooth body shape. The detailing on the bait is interesting, not entirely realistic in my opinion) when you hold it out of water. But once it glides, the color schemes all work together. The joints are solid and a allow the bait to walk side to side easily. The bait slow sinks so it’s easy to get it around shallow cover and work it nicely without much skill. The hardware is solid with sharp hooks including strong line ties for when you’re throwing the lure on heavy braid and/or swinging back on a massive fish.
Sizes

The S Waver comes in a 120, 168, and 200 size. The 120 and 168 are fishable on a solid slipping stick (your choice of braided or mono). The 200 is best thrown on a heavy swimbait rod that can manage the 3-1/2oz weight. I like throwing the 200 on the California delta in shallow grass flats and island cuts and moving water. The slow sink and the 0-1 ft diving depth allows me to twitch it and rest it along the surface, or, when fishing for shallow water striper, I can keep the s waver moving side to side without worrying about hangups.
Action
I like that I can hold this lure at the surface and wake it slowly. It’s also easy to glide it sub surface if you let it sink and it maintains its heading without pulling up or nosing down. On a straight retrieve the lure looks smooth with a wide s pattern followed by an erratic fast retrieve and pause. It swings around easily and pauses well and with the slow sink it pauses for longer in one place. I’m not sure why, but the S-waver is fantastic striper lure when fished erratically. The S-Waver is a perfect beginner glide bait that doesnt require a ton of skill level. I would recommend the 168 if you’re starting out. It’s easier to work side to side and get more attention due to the smaller profile. Again, you can throw the 168 on a flipping stick so there’s no need to run out and buy-up a new arsenal of expensive heavy swimbait gear.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I’d say the River2sea S-waver glide bait is a great beginner glide bait. The build is solid, and the action is great for the money. It slow sinks which allows you to fish close to cover and along the surface – perfect for boat docks. It swims great on a slow retreivei and has that erratic action on a fast retreive that all glide bait enthusiats look for.
